Ceramic chemistry is good 1920s science, decent 1990s software, and almost no 21st-century thinking. The Stull chart — the field's main visual tool — was published in 1922. The largest open recipe database has roughly 12,000 usable rows. Nobody tracks firing curves rigorously. Nobody links predicted surface outcomes to measurable physical results.

RL Ventures is one person working at that intersection: a potter who writes verification software, a programmer who fires kilns. The patent is about the bridge between the two. The work is the proof that both sides exist in the same hands. Ground the abstract — ideas mean nothing until they touch reality.

Three Rules
Feldspar choice determines Stull zone (Tier 1 glass-formers, 5–40× impact). Substitution deltas scale by base Si:Al (r = +0.98). Colorants are invisible to Stull except SiC (29×).

9,815 recipes ingested from Glazy (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0). 9,578 Stull-plottable. 6,347 with chemistry + cone + surface metadata. 5,273 with CLIP image embeddings.
Surface Probe
Carbon-trap classifier trained on 79 labels with augmented data. F1 = 1.00 at threshold 0.7 on Shino-class recipes. Extending to Tenmoku, Celadon, Oil Spot.
Heatwork Model
Orton cone simulator validated against official sample data. MAE 8.35 °C, RMSE 9.64 °C, max abs delta 16.23 °C on non-lab pipeline.
